Culture

The Arts

Both of our Zumi’s locations host a rotating art exhibit featuring local artists.

Both stores also host live music that creates a cheerful coffeehouse ambiance for all.

Poetry nights and Fiber fellowship are also popular creativity events at our cafes.

We love to support the arts and appreciate opportunities to collaborate with local creatives and organizations to this end!

For now, here are some high level notes

  • The Baltimore Oriole is a migratory bird found locally as well as coffee-lands in central and south America

  • It is a symbol of our interconnectedness!

  • This bird reminds us why our choices matter: shade grown coffee farming protects the symbiotic relationships in healthy ecosystems, as does the the conservation work we support locally

  • The coffee berries in it’s beak are meant to bring to mind the symbol of the peace dove with an olive branch
