You can read the story of how Zumi’s began, but the source energy behind so much of the soul of the cafe is this guy. Umesh came to the U.S. from Nepal in 1990 as International Camp Counselor Program (ICCP) as a exchange student to work at summer camp as a outdoor instructor after having worked as a guide in the Himalayas, where he met some incredible climbers from MA and NH who have become lifelong friends. He moonlighted his way through college (BA from BU) and graduate school (MBA from JWU) studying hospitality and business, and has the most optimistic outlook of just about anyone you’ll ever meet. Umesh loves to draw the best out of people and embodies the mindset of being here to serve others. He loves a good adventure story so if you see him, share yours!
